Greenstone
tenure review
The open valley
floor is part of the former Greenstone Station, which, along with
the adjoining Routeburn and Elfin Bay pastoral leases, was purchased
by the New Zealand Government in 1992 for "possible"
settlement of Ngai Tahu land claims.
The forested valley walls are conservation areas administered
by the Department of Conservation. The mountains of Fiordland
National Park are in the background.
